Preserving Old Movies

I've always thought it was important to preserve old movies, which is part of what I do with this website. By cataloging movies with the World Trade Center, I preserve those images digitally so they are not lost.

I only added one movie today, but it is a great example of how old movies fade over time and the WTC towers along with them. I just found Short Letter to the Long Goodbye from 1978. (Thank you to rarefilmm.com!) As I watched it and saw the New York skyline, I knew exactly where the WTC should be, but the film was very faded. After running it through image software, the towers were visible.
